FAQ

Is walking on a glacier safe for children?

Yes- when it’s done properly and with the right guide.
Glacier walks are carefully adapted to the age and confidence of each child. We use professional safety equipment, choose gentle glacier areas, and keep groups private and small. If conditions are not ideal or a child is not comfortable, we simply adjust the plan. Safety always comes first.

What is the minimum age for glacier activities?

There is no fixed rule- it depends on the child, the weather, and the specific route.
In general, we recommend glacier walks for children who are comfortable walking outdoors and following simple instructions. During our free consultation, we discuss your children’s ages and experience to decide what truly makes sense.

What if my child gets tired, cold, or overwhelmed?

That’s completely normal- and expected.
Because all tours are private, we slow down, take breaks, or change plans at any time. There is no pressure to continue if a child needs rest, warmth, or a snack. As a father myself, I plan every tour with flexibility in mind.

Are the days long or very physically demanding?

No. Our family tours are intentionally well-paced.
We avoid long hikes, limit driving time, and balance activity with rest. The goal is not to “see everything,” but to enjoy the experience comfortably- especially for children.

What about weather and safety in Iceland?

Iceland’s weather can change quickly, which is why experience matters.
Routes, timing, and activities are always adjusted based on real-time conditions. If weather is not suitable, we change the plan- no risks, no pressure. Your family’s safety is more important than any schedule.

Do you provide all the necessary equipment?

Yes. For glacier activities, we provide professional safety equipment and make sure everything fits properly- especially for children. We’ll also advise you in advance on clothing so your kids stay warm and comfortable.

Can tours be adjusted during the day?

Absolutely. That’s the advantage of private tours.
If your children are especially curious, tired, or excited about something unexpected, we adapt. Some of the best moments happen when we slow down or follow the children’s lead.

We’re not sure which tour is right for our family. What should we do?

Just reach out.
We offer a free consultation by email, phone, or WhatsApp, where we talk through your travel plans, your children’s ages, and your comfort level. Together, we’ll choose- or design- the right experience for your family.

Is this suitable for first-time visitors to Iceland?

Yes, especially so.
Families visiting Iceland for the first time often appreciate having everything carefully planned and guided, with someone who understands both the country and the needs of traveling with children.

Why choose a private family tour instead of a group tour?

Private tours mean flexibility, comfort, and peace of mind.
No rushing, no crowds, no pressure to keep up with others. Just your family, your pace, and a guide fully focused on you.
